Mr. Gray currently serves as President of Thompson Gray, Inc., which is a Huntsville based company that specializes in financial and business management services for the U.S. Army and other customers worldwide. Earlier in his career in the research and development and aerospace industries, Mr. Gray served in a variety of management and executive positions which led to his founding of Gray Research, Inc. in 1998 where he served as President until 2011.
Mr. Gray received his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Alabama in 1981. In 2007, he was honored as a Distinguished Fellow by the University’s College of Engineering, and in 2010 he was inducted into the State of Alabama Engineering Hall of Fame. He has served his community and state on a variety of boards including those representing the Alabama Aerospace Industry Association, the Army Space and Missile Defense Association, the Von Braun Center for Science and Innovation, and the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce. Most recently, he served as Executive Director of the Governor’s Tornado Recovery Action Council.
Mr. Gray was awarded a patent in 1985 as a result of research and development work in the pollution control field and has been recognized multiple times for entrepreneurial accomplishments.
