Each University of Alabama System campus is a global institution with community members who are engaged in University-sponsored international work and travel.  The personal health and safety of our faculty, staff and students is our highest priority.  In alignment with our core principles, the UA System has developed a proactive plan to respond to the COVID-19 outbreak, which will be revised and updated as new information becomes available.

We have established a COVID-19 Communications and Policy Task Force that is co-chaired by Dr. Jeanne Marrazzo, Chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases at UAB, and Katie Osburne, UA System Director of Risk & Compliance and System Counsel.  This group is working with state, Federal and global health agencies on recommendations to reduce risk and develop strategies to mitigate spread of the virus and protect the health of our fellow citizens.
