UA System COVID-19 Dashboard

The COVID-19 dashboard released today by the University of Alabama System shows a significant overall decrease in positive cases among students at the University of Alabama. At UAB and UAH, student numbers remain in low double digits.

The chart below includes positive tests on UA System campuses identified through sentinel testing, point of care testing in campus health centers, common location exposure testing, and self-reported tests from private providers. Entry testing is not included in this calculation.

UAB returned many clinical, research and other faculty/staff beginning in May and needed to implement sentinel testing before the other campuses. Optional entry testing will be available for faculty and staff who have been approved to physically come to campus for work for the beginning of the fall 2020 semester.

Faculty & Staff Entry Testing

UAB returned many clinical, research and other faculty/staff beginning in May and needed to implement sentinel testing before the other campuses. Optional entry testing for eligible faculty and staff – those who have been approved to physically come to campus for work starting in August for the beginning of the fall 2020 semester – will have the option to participate in entry testing beginning the week of Aug. 24.

Faculty and staff who tested positive during entry testing were not allowed to report to campus.
