COVID-19 Updates

Our entire UA System – UA, UAB, UAH and the UAB Health System – is dedicating all possible resources to reopen our campuses in a manner that will be the gold standard for colleges and universities across the nation. While we do not know when our students will return, when they do we will be ready to welcome them to the safest campuses in America. Chancellor Finis St. John has established a System-wide Task Force to meet our goals using strategies of all kinds: testing measures, enhanced cleaning, classroom procedures, housing policies, security and wellness programs, and more.

Yesterday at the White House Chancellor St. John outlined the University of Alabama System’s health and safety plans for a safe return to campus in a roundtable discussion with leaders from around the country. Moderated by President Trump, the stakeholder group included health professionals, two-year and regional university leaders, teachers, parents and Cabinet officers. Chancellor St. John was invited as the sole representative of the nation’s doctoral research universities. Click here to view Chancellor St. John’s remarks. – July 8, 2020
