UA System COVID Numbers Continue Falling to Record Lows
For the second straight week, the UA System reported a record low number of COVID positive students, faculty, staff, and clinical enterprise employees for the 2020-2021 academic year.
This continued decline in positive cases occurs as The University of Alabama, UAB, and UAH plan to open registration for Summer and Fall 2021 courses in coming weeks.
Key COVID dashboard data this week:
- Only 8 academic faculty and staff tested positive this week across the entire System. When combined with the 18 clinical enterprise employees, which also represents a pandemic low point, only 0.065% of UA System employees tested positive last week.
- Sentinel testing positivity remains very low, with 0.32% positivity. Students represented the vast majority of the 3,172 sentinel testing participants.
- With only 12 students in designated quarantine and isolation housing across the System, the occupancy level is 1.69%.
The next UA System Dashboard update will be released Friday, March 5.
