COVID Numbers Remain Low on UA System Campuses

The number of COVID positive students, faculty, staff and clinical enterprise employees remains well below fall levels, according to the UA System COVID-19 Dashboard.

As vaccination programs continue at The University of Alabama, University of Alabama at Birmingham, and University of Alabama in Huntsville, all employees within the UA System have been offered the first dose of vaccination, at a minimum.

Low positivity and increasing vaccination rates reinforce the plan to return to normal operations for the Fall 2021 semester.

Key COVID dashboard data this week:

  • Only 6 academic faculty and staff tested positive this week across the entire System. When combined with the 9 clinical enterprise employees, which also represents a pandemic low point, only 0.00375% of UA System employees tested positive last week.
  • Sentinel testing positivity remains well under 1%, as it has for the last several weeks
  • With only 16 students in designated quarantine and isolation housing across the System, the vacancy level is over 98%.

The next UA System Dashboard update will be released Friday, April 2.
