Cynthia Ransburg-Brown joined the Office of Counsel in 2016. As University Counsel, Cynthia provides legal assistance to the UAB Health System and related entities in the areas of healthcare regulation and licensure, staff issues, contract negotiations, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate law. Prior to joining the Office of Counsel, she was in private practice, specializing in advising health care clients on corporate and HIPAA compliance, health care fraud, and other licensure actions. Cynthia has taught health law as an adjunct professor in the Master and Executive Master of Science in Health Administration department at UAB since 2001.
Cynthia earned her B.S. from Northeast Louisiana University and her J.D. from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University. She is a member of the Alabama State Bar, American Bar Association, American Health Lawyers Association, Birmingham Bar Association, Magic City Bar Association, National Bar Association, and the National Association of College and University Attorneys.
