The University of Alabama System Office requires all regular full-time employees to carry health insurance as a condition of employment. Waiver of this policy may be granted for those who provide evidence of substantially equivalent coverage through another group or through individual policies. Regular part-time employees with a .5 FTE or greater may enroll at their option. Temporary full-time employees also have the option to enroll, but temporary employees who work less than full-time are ineligible to participate in this program.
