The UA System Office’s operating philosophy is to add value and facilitate the ability of our campuses to excel. Led by the Chancellor, who serves as the primary reporting channel for the presidents of each institution, The UA System Office facilitates the work of our Board of Trustees, ensures the fiscal integrity of our three campuses, directs legal affairs and audit functions, operates a state-of-the-art information technology infrastructure, initiates Systemwide activities and outreach, and presents a unified public affairs program. The System Office also approves and reviews academic programs, supports growth and development of the UAB Health System, as well as economic growth initiatives throughout the state.

Finis E. St. John IV is Chancellor of The University of Alabama System. In that capacity, he is chief executive officer of Alabama’s largest higher education enterprise, which is comprised of three doctoral research universities and the UAB Health System.
