Goals of the UA System Risk and Compliance program include the prevention of injuries as well as financial preparation for the inevitable losses that occur. Often termed “traditional” risk management, insurance and self-insurance programs are keys to protecting our institutions and employees from unavoidable and unexpected losses.
The University of Alabama System and its institutions have cooperated for more than 40 years on a comprehensive program of insurance and self-insurance to protect our institutions and employees acting in the line and scope of employment. In addition, we are required by law to insure our property with the State of Alabama Department of Finance’s Division of Risk Management. Broker/consultant services are bid.
